Engineering
From idea to final product
Your company, production process, machines and installations, or end products are unique. To fully meet your specific wishes and requirements, custom work is often necessary. Especially when you are ready for faster, smarter, or more efficient production. ERIKS is your partner in developing new components, complete products, or materials.
After a thorough analysis of your question or problem, we can get to work immediately in our engineering departments using design software or rapid prototyping. Moreover, as the manufacturer, we produce the innovative solution ourselves at one of our own production facilities.
Complete engineering
ERIKS has various engineering teams specializing in drive technology, rubber technology, hoses, and valves.
Using the Design for Six Sigma methodology, we develop high-quality products for you.
We start from scratch or optimize your own design for manufacturability and performance.
Co-engineering and advice on the right material selection, strength, temperature and chemical resistance, and other relevant criteria make our services in this area complete.
Rapid prototyping
An expert team of engineers carefully guides your project from A to Z and advises on the best design and rapid prototyping trajectory for your situation. ERIKS provides full support with:
- Engineering of configuration, shape, and finish
- Preparation of the files
- Technology selection
- Advice on material selection
- In-house production of test or 0-series in rubber compound
- Mold engineering
- Final series production
Additive Manufacturing & 3D printing
ERIKS has its own Additive Manufacturing / 3D printing team specializing in the production of prototypes, jigs & fixtures, and finished products. This utilizes a wide range of in-house printing capabilities to print various plastics, metals, rubber-like materials, and silicones. A combination of materials and structures is also possible, which then corresponds to the mechanical properties and appearance of your finished product.
With tools such as SolidWorks and the latest 3D CAD technology, your ideas, concepts, and innovations can be converted into a tangible prototype within a few days. This helps you accelerate the development process.

Site scan – training – process optimizations
Additive Manufacturing / 3D printing is a relatively new production technique, making it sometimes difficult for you to determine what is and isn’t possible. For example, whether your desired high-quality level is achievable. ERIKS specializes in understanding all aspects of this technique; from materials, design, printing techniques, and potential post-processing, to ensuring a consistent quality process. We do this through our own research into the applicability of the technique, as well as through fundamental research into materials in collaboration with leading research institutions.
To familiarize you with the new possibilities of this technology, ERIKS offers various workshops aimed at sales, engineering, and production. In addition, supplementary services are provided in the areas of rapid prototyping, 0-series, digitizing and making your inventory printable, and optimizing your production process and/or logistics flows.
Accelerate your product development using Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Do you want to know exactly how a component you have in mind behaves in your final solution? Normally, this can only be determined through field testing with the final product. Thorough testing under (extreme) conditions regarding, for example, temperature, pressure, and forces is not easy, or sometimes even impossible.
By virtually recreating your product and running simulations on it, we can accelerate your product development process and minimize associated costs. ERIKS offers simulations based on Finite Element Analysis (FEA), in which a concept is digitally exposed to all external physical stresses. If necessary, different concepts can be tested/simulated side-by-side to immediately determine the best solution direction for the final product. This allows you to shorten your development time by as much as 75%.

Material analyses and material tests
for rubber compound and plastics
Are you looking for a material with very specific mechanical and/or dynamic properties? Or does it need to withstand various extreme environmental factors?
Within its group, ERIKS has an independent, ISO 17025 accredited research and testing laboratory focusing on rubber and plastics. With a wide variety of advanced equipment in the laboratory of Elastomer Research Testing bv, we can test or measure a large number of rubber properties.
- Physical-mechanical properties
- Dynamic properties
- Chemical analysis
- Other tests
The tests are performed as standard according to ASTM, DIN, and/or ISO standards. We can also meet customer-specific test requirements.
