Preventing errors with PFMEA and DFMEA

A seal must not fail and a damper must meet the correct tolerances. But what if this is not the case? For this, ERIKS uses Failure Mode and Effect Analysis methods . With these FMEAs, we investigate where errors can occur in the process (PFMEA) and the design (DFMEA) and what the effect of these failures is. By detecting these potential errors early, they are resolved before you start testing with prototypes and put the series into service.

Development tracks for customization

Sometimes customers present us with challenges that even we are not sure we can solve. For such a challenge, we start a custom development process together with you to arrive at the right product in three steps:

1. Voice of customer – Based on conversations, emails, and design info, we create a voice of customer document containing all requirements and wishes for the product.

2. Critical to Quality – The input from the voice of customer document provides an overview of the quality requirements, the Critical to Quality (CTQ). This way, we know exactly what is needed to deliver a high-quality product that meets all quality requirements.

3. Prototype development and testing – During the development and testing of prototypes, we assess together with you whether the developed solution actually meets the CTQs . In this phase, the final adjustments are made, and only when you are 100% satisfied with the product do we take the step to series production.

Clean Manufacturing & Cleanroom Packaging

Do you work for or in the food, pharmaceutical, or semiconductor industry? Then you know the importance of clean products. This goes beyond clean rubber material . The production and packaging processes must also meet high standards. With our cleanroom packaging facility in Alkmaar and clean manufacturing facilities, ERIKS complies with the ISO 14644-1 standard. In this ISO Class 6 (also known as Class 1000), particles down to 0.5µm are filtered out. Many of our suppliers also have clean production facilities. This allows us to deliver large series from cleanroom production.

Rubber compound development and testing

At ERIKS, you will find all common rubber compounds available. In addition, we offer compounds for specific applications in food, pharmaceuticals, gas, drinking water, and more . We then develop the right compound in collaboration with Elastomer Research Testing bv (ERT) . ERT is a renowned rubber laboratory and part of ERIKS. They specialize in the development and testing of rubber compounds and are ISO17025 certified for this.
