About the role

About the role, ERIKS is looking for a committed Application Engineer to join our team in Malaysia. This full-time position plays a key role in supporting our customers and delivering practical engineering solutions within the mechanical engineering sector.

What you’ll be doing

1.     Provide technical support and sound engineering advice to the Sales team in addressing customer and supplier enquiries.

2.     Source products internally and externally based on customer specifications and application requirements.

3.     Identify system deficiencies, investigate issues, and recommend effective troubleshooting solutions in a timely manner.

4.     Engage with customers to understand their needs and propose suitable technical solutions and alternatives.

5.     Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to support long-term business partnerships.

6.     Work closely with Senior Application Engineers and the Regional Product Manager (APAC) to support business objectives and technical initiatives.

7.     Liaise with global teams on product-related activities, technical support, and project requirements.

8.     Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical briefings for customers and stakeholders.

9.     Execute business strategies, sales plans, and initiatives as directed by Management.

10.  Attend customer sites and provide on-site technical support when required.

11.  Undertake any other duties, assignments, or projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

What we’re looking for

1.     Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

2.     Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering role, preferably within the mechanical engineering industry, with exposure to Power Transmission (PT) products.

3.     Strong technical aptitude with a sound understanding of engineering principles, product applications, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

4.     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

5.     Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also collaborating effectively within a team environment to achieve project objectives and business goals.

6.     Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

7.     Willingness to travel and provide on-site technical support to customers as required.
